Katharine Henning
Owner and Principal Planner
Henning leads the full-service event design and planning company specializing in weddings, social gatherings, corporate events, and nonprofit fundraisers.
Before founding her own business, she served as the Director of Corporate and Employer Brand Strategy at an education technology company, where she played a pivotal role in redefining the company's brand identity and orchestrating events with notable speakers, including First Lady Michelle Obama and Trevor Noah and more.
She holds a B.A. from Washington College, a M.B.A. from American University's Kogod School of Business, and completed the University of Oxford (England) Womens’ Leadership Development Program.
Katharine, her husband and two dogs split their time between Oxford and Silver Spring, Maryland.
Naomi Calandro
Wedding and Event Planner
Naomi is an accomplished hospitality professional with a degree in Event Planning & Catering. She loves a good love story and designing elegant tablescapes. Her favorite moment during a wedding day is witnessing the couple’s radiant glow immediately after the ceremony, when the joy of saying "I do" is palpable and effortless. Having found her dream role with Island Creek Events, Naomi is excited to expand her expertise in white glove service planning and explore diverse venues across the region. Originally from Tacoma, WA, she has lived in four different states, but Maryland has undoubtedly become her favorite. Naomi met her husband at their favorite Annapolis brewery, and they tied the knot in June 2024. When she’s not immersed in wedding planning, she enjoys spending time in the garden, playing with her dog, Juniper, and relaxing with a good book and a warm cup of tea.
Meredith Hartge
Lead Event Coordinator
Meredith has worked weddings for more than 5 years and knows the luxury wedding market well. She loves a seating chart, and she will make you and your guests feel welcomed from the moment they arrive to the very last goodbye.
Meredith is a native of the Eastern Shore and now lives in Washington, D.C. When she is not wrangling the wedding party for photos, she enjoys sailing log canoes and teaching Barre3.
Amanda Markey
Lead Event Coordinator
Amanda holds her Entertainment Management from the University of Central Florida. She has been in the event planning industry for the last two years. Her meticulous approach ensures that every wedding she coordinates is treated with the utmost care and attention as if it were her own, making each one special and unforgettable.
Outside of the world of event planning, Amanda is also a passionate artist. Her love for art and creativity adds a unique dimension to her personality, allowing her to bring a fresh and artistic perspective to her work.
